It's as stable as your tie job is. If you're unfamiliar, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND watching some videos on hafting techniques before trying it out yourself. Seriously… improper hafting can result in serious injury to yourself, or any living thing in your general vicinity. Though we do have a general guide to mounting and lashing your hand axe to a haft, there is no dedicated lashing pattern or technique that works for all situations. The way you choose to tie your Axxis will be dependent on the type of lashing material you have, the length of that material, the type of haft wood being used, the abrasiveness of the haft relative to the lashing material, etc. The Axxis was designed with lashing holes strategically placed throughout the frame so you can find the pattern that works best for you in your scenario. Be careful when testing your tie job. Make sure the Axxis is fully secure BEFORE you swing and check your lashings frequently when chopping.

Minimal. Wipe off any debris before putting the Axxis hand axe back in its sheath. Oil it occasionally and sharpen when needed. D2 steel has a pretty high chromium content, which prevents rusting. But don't be stupid and leave it sitting in water please. You'll be very disappointed with the outcome.

Technically a ceramic, a Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating is the byproduct of a chemical process which results in a layer that is only a few microns thick (<7) and is twice as hard as steel. Unlike traditional bake-on protective finishes which can be thick and often rub off after prolonged use, a Ti Nitride coating molecularly bonds to the base steel, increasing hardness, durability, corrosion resistance, etc.

Look at it this way,  manufacturers of heavy use machining parts such as carbide drill bits, machine punches, and metal dies, will often TiN coat their products to extend their longevity. If there were ANY advantage to a bake on finish you can bet your ass they'd be using it. Nough said...

Although we did consider mounting a TekLoc to the sheath, we found that a simple loop with a reliable carabiner provides the greatest degree of versatility in terms of carry options. As designed, it can be hooked to your belt and slipped into a pocket, without the risk of a bulky clip mechanism getting caught. Furthermore, the sheath can be decoupled from the carabiner so that it can be employed to cover the Axxis when hafted, without the added weight of a cumbersome clipping mechanism.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT attempt to use your Axxis as a knuckle or punching implement. It is in no way, shape, or form designed for this type of usage. Heed this warning. Failure to do so will most certainly result in broken fingers at best; or broken fingers, hand, wrist, etc. at worst.

So what were you doing with it anyways? Use your Bone Daddy Blade WerX tools responsibly and we guarantee they will last you a lifetime (probably more.) However, If you have somehow miraculously managed to chip, crack, or bend an Axxis, congratulations. Very impressive! So impressive that we'll replace it for you.
